Casting call for newborn babies!

Calling all soon-to-be Parents!

I’m thrilled & excited to begin work on a few projects early 2010. One of my first projects is putting out a casting call to all local soon-to-be parents.  I have big dreams for this project!!What: I’m looking for newborn babies between 2 to 3 weeks of age.  Where:  I plan to photograph on location in the parents’ home and in exchange you will receive your newborn session FREE of charge. How: If you’d like more information about what is expected of all participants and what you’ll receive in return as a thank you for participation, then please contact me.

Ringing in the new year with a new look!

After a 1-on-1 training session with the phenomenally talented photographer Jamie Delaine back in October, 2009, it became clear that my BRANDING needed some attention. That became the starting point of many new & fresh ideas for my business: both short and long term. This not only involved changes to my business but also to my life and personal goals. I felt so energized & refreshed and even though I knew many changes & hard work lay ahead, I saw it as an exciting adventure and I couldn’t wait to tackle my to-do list.

Top priorities were a brand new blog and a new website and I’m super excited to show you the final product. By using Showit +Sites I was able to design a website that is sleek, modern and fresh. I’m honoured to be a service provider for the beautiful Cecil Green Park, the “House on the Cliff”.

It offers a splendid, incomparable setting for weddings as it is situated high on the cliffs of Point Grey, with magnificent panoramic views that sweep north to Howe Sound and across to the Straight of Georgia. Mari & Mariano ~ Maternity Session

I simply adored these two. They are such a stunning couple and the beautiful connection they share with each other is so real and visible for all to see. Their maternity session was relaxed and natural, a photographers dream. They had such fun they barely required any direction, thus allowing me to capture some favourite images. As we headed out we brave a few raindrops. The rain has been threatening all day but luckily it held off and actually cleared a bit as we finished our session. Then we headed to a neighbourhood coffee shop, had some warm bevvies and finished the shoot in the comfort of their home. I’m so honoured to watch families grow so I can hardly wait to meet their sweet baby boy in January, 2010.

I always get asked ~ what do you carry in your bag and what equipment do you shoot with?
I shoot with professional CANON equipment and I love it!!!

Here’s the list of what I carry:

~ Canon 5D Mark II – NEW (loves it, loves it!)
~ Canon 50D – great color comes out of this camera and it has a full sensor so your wide lens is WIDE

~ Canon 50D – for backup
~ 20mm f/2.8 lens
~ 50mm f/1.4 lens – to capture that sweet, buttery backgrounds
~ 85mm f/1.8 lens
~ 24-70mm f/2.8 lens
~ 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM zoom lens
~ 580EX Flash speedlites
~ Lumedyne Tinycycler battery packs
~ Pocket wizards FlexTT5 for off-camera flash work
~ batteries and battery chargers
~ Card readers and multiple CF cards
~ 17″ Laptop for showing slideshows at the reception
